electrical wiring

The roof has now been finished and the chimney has been started. They are now about to begin the stucco on the outside of the house as they placed all the supports and scaffolding today. Inside the house there was alot accomplished as air and heating ducts were all placed, cans for lighting were hung, fireplace was installed, and electrical wiring has been started. Of course there were a few mistakes made as to be expected such as placing light switch boxes in wrong places and adding air ducts to our unfinished storage, but hey we will take it since it was part of the package and did not cost any extra. now if we ever finish that room we don't have to worry about running air to it. Next week they will run all the low voltage wiring for the phone, tv, internet, and so forth and continue stucco prep and work. Jess and I have been busy buying bedroom sets for the boys and appliances. We have been super lucky as the things we have been wanting have come on sale at the right time. We got a barely used second fridge for half price, a deep freeze over $200 off and our main fridge $800 dollars off.

roof started

The house is coming along very quickly. We have been shocked at how quickly things have gone. The outside is completely framed (except the chimney) and the shingles are going on right now.  The windows are all in and the all the exterior doors are on minus the front ones which don't go on until the house can be secured due to high theft of front doors during construction. Inside the house things are going up nicely all the plumbing has been run as well as gas lines. We even have 3 tubs installed. It was a good thing we walk the house frequently since the plumbers ran a bunch of tubing right where the laundry chute was supposed to be.(would have helped if the framers would not have forgotten to put the chute in). They have now moved the tubes and we are awaiting the chute to be placed. We have spent 4 hours at the house this week going over the electrical and low volt wiring.

house is framed

After a little over a month the house is now 95% framed and the outside walls are now taking shape. There are still things inside that have not been done correctly that need to be changed, but we are excited to see the house taking shape. The boys have a blast every time we go and they love to go to their future rooms. Jaxon thinks the house is the best play place ever (although child protective services might think other wise with nails and all), today when I was getting him out of the car he had a huge smile and began yelling down down down. Once we get inside the house they begin running all over the first floor. We are more cautious on the second floor as Jaxon is not allowed to be out of our arms, which to him is absolute torture.

The house with the roof started.

framing part 3

The framing is almost done. They just need to finish the roof and fix some of the mistakes that have been made such as forgetting a door for a bedroom. Always good to have a door for a bedroom unless you want to go through another room, into the bathroom, and then finally into the bedroom. Everything is looking awesome we are so excited. They should finish framing the roof next week and start applying the walls on the outside of the house.

Here is the house framed minus the roof.

more framing...

After spending a week in Utah we were excited to return and see the progress on the house. We left with the first floor nearly half way framed and came back to the second floor almost half way framed. It is so exciting to see the progress.
This is looking at the front of the house from the street. The second floor is 1/2 way framed.
